Step-by-Step Mode is accessed below the "Generate Full Work" Button circled in red below:

In this mode, instead of one-shotting the entire work, you will first click on "Generate Description", then have the option to edit the generated Basic Description. This is repeated for several steps allow you to correct and guide the Deepwriter agents.

Tip: copy the outputs of each step and paste them into your favorite AI chat to collaborate with.

While some users simply want to type a prompt and go, others want to control and modify the outputs of major planning milestones before they go to the next stage. Step-by-Step mode allows this for 3 main Planning Steps:

Step 1: Basic Description/Intentions of the Work

  • A high-level "publisher's" view or project

  • Target audience/goals of work

  • High level definition of success

Step 2: Details Description.

  • A more detailed version of Step 1.

  • The earliest appearances of content details

  • More details on elements the work will include (E.G. charts, diagrams, etc.)

Step 3: Defining the Project's Vision

  • The work's Official Title is Decided at the top, which you can change.

  • The high level sketch of the structure

  • High level list of contents

Complete Rest of Work

At any step, you can simply skip the rest of the steps and have Deepwriter complete the rest of the work. From Step 3, this is the only option.
